Day 1: Wednesday, March 25, 2020 – Birmingham 
4:00 pm             Gather in Hotel Lobby
5:00 pm             Depart for Bethel Baptist Church

  • Dinner at Bethel Baptist Church, catered by Sylvia Jackson
  • Orientation
  • Return to hotel
  • Informal social time at hotel bar

Day 2: Thursday, March 26, 2020 – Birmingham 
6:00 – 8:30 am Breakfast (on your own time)
8:45 am            Bus departs for stops in Birmingham

  • Program at Historic Bethel Baptist Church
  • Lunch at Sweet Tea
  • Tour of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI)
  • Visit to 16th Street Baptist Church
  • Shopping in BCRI gift shop
  • Walking tour of Kelly Ingram Park
  • Dinner and program at UU Church of Birmingham

  • Tour the Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Incarceration
  • Visit the The National Memorial for Peace and Justice
  • Lunch
  • Tour Dexter Avenue Parsonage Museum
  •  Tour Rosa Parks Museum
  • Driving tour of key Montgomery Civil Rights Movement sites
  • Ritual at Maya Lin Civil Rights Memorial
  • Dinner and Touchstone groups at Fried Tomatoes Buffet

  • Visit National Park Service Lowndes County Interpretive Center
  • Continue drive to Selma
  • Visit James Reeb Memorial
  • Lunch at George C. Wallace Community College
  • Program with Voting Rights Movement veteran, Joanne Bland
  • Walk the Edmund Pettus Bridge
  • Drive to Marion, AL
  • Program with Marion veterans at Zion United Methodist Church
  • Dinner and Touchstone Groups at Lottie’s Restaurant

Day 5: Sunday, March 29, 2020 
6:30 – 9:30 am  Breakfast (on your own time)

  • Group photo on the steps of Brown Chapel
  • Worship Service at Brown Chapel AME Church
  • Bus Departs for Birmingham, with lunch on board
