Did you know that the Mississippi murder of Emmett Till, a 14-year-old from Chicago, roused the resistance into a Movement—that is, the American Civil Rights Movement? Understanding what is happening in our world today means taking the time to learn our history, so we can more effectively work against 21st century white supremacy. How else can we move to an equitable future? Join the Living Legacy Project for a 4-day direct experience of key elements of Mississippi’s civil rights stories. When: October 28 through 31, 2018. We will gather in Jackson with day trips east and north. On this Pilgrimage, you will:

Transportation to Jackson, MS This trip begins and ends in Jackson, MS. The nearest airport is the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport. Jackson is also serviced by Amtrak. In Jackson, we'll be staying at the Cabot Lodge Millsaps 2375 North State Street Jackson, Mississippi 39202 Phone: (601) 948-865 Please plan to arrive at the hotel and be settled in by 4:00 Central Time on Sunday, October 28. If you cannot get a flight to get you there by that time, please email us at [email protected] The program will end at 9:00 pm, Wednesday, October 31. Plan your departure anytime on Thursday, November 1. Cancellation Policy Cancellations before August 31, 2018, will receive a refund of all but a $50 administrative fee. Although we will do our best to provide refunds after this date, we might not be able to if we cannot refill your seat. |
